Mission
The Shenendehowa Professional Development Plan is the vehicle by
which the district achieves its commitment to provide a continuum of
effective strategies, opportunities, programs and services that
support all students meeting or exceeding challenging learning
standards and maximizing their individual academic potential.
Efforts to improve student learning through professional development
deepens educators' content knowledge and provides them with current
research-based theories and instructional practices.
The district is
seeking to promote the philosophy of Professional Learning
Communities to increase effective collaboration among all staff.
Such collaborative efforts aim to foster an improved vision of how
to meet the diverse needs of the students in the classroom.
Professional staff members are encouraged to engage in formative
evaluation and reflective practice. Ongoing support is given to
school and district leaders to assist them in guiding continuous
instructional improvement.
