Qualifications

Qualified candidates MUST possess:

• New York State teaching certification or must be able to meet the qualifications for certification by the New York State Education Department in the teaching area of their interest. For information on New York State certification requirements, go to www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/.

• An educational degree from a college program that is widely recognized and accepted as a post-secondary leader in the specialized area in which the candidate is seeking employment with the district.

• Appropriate student teaching and/or actual teaching experience in the specific content/grade level of interest to the candidate.

• Written recommendations reflecting a sound working relationship with students in the content/grade level of interest to the candidate .

• A unique talent or skill that they could bring into the educational setting
