Arongen Partnership Team
2009-2010
Our Mission Statement:
Recognizing that learning is a shared responsibility, we, the Arongen community, believe that critical thinking, problem solving, nurturing a sense of inquiry and establishing a purpose for learning are most important. The uniqueness of each individual is accepted and we are committed to the development of the total child. We build self esteem and promote attitudes of responsibility and accountability in a safe, orderly, and positive environment where learning is valued and differences accepted. We are committed to the development of strategies necessary to function in a highly complex and changing society.
Our History:
Under a new administrator in 1989, the Arongen Cabinet took a new approach to site based management and decision making. The result was a common thought, to become a proactive group. Partnership Team members accepted specific responsibility to ensure involvement in the change process. The Partnership Chairperson facilitates staff meetings, Partnership meetings were opened to all staff, by-laws were established, representation was expanded to CSEA and parent members, Board of Education members, and District Office representatives. These new members and ideas led to the development of the Building Action Plan and Mission Statement. A year later a concrete, objective, proactive plan was implemented.
The Partnership Team continues to be committed to:
-holding
elections to insure the opportunity to involve all stakeholders
-surveying
staff, students, and parents

Throughout this process our focal point remains constant - to keep the child at the center of all decisions.
