Shen Crew will be hosting a benefit dinner on Tuesday, December 7th at TGIF in Clifton Park from 5PM-8-PM. Proceeds from the dinner will be used to offset the cost of this year's winter training trip for our rowers. The required flier is available on our website www.shencrew.com. Santa’s sleigh will be a big yellow school bus
this holiday season, thanks to the efforts of the Shenendehowa
Transportation Department, Shenendehowa Central School District
employees, students and their families as we team up with the U.S.
Marine Corp to “Stuff The Bus” with Toys for Tots.
Toys for Tots, sponsored by the Marine Corps since 1947, annually
provides some 60,000 Capital District children with toys for the
holidays. New, unwrapped toys are collected at various locations
in November and December, and distributed to needy youngsters in
time for the holidays.
The Shenendehowa Transportation Department in partnership with
Leonard Bus Sales and the US Marine Corp will be collecting toys
this holiday season for the Toys for Tots campaign. Transportation
employees will be collecting toys for the next few weeks and will
turn over all toys to the US Marine Corp in Latham for
distribution to needy kids throughout the capital region. The goal
is to “Stuff The Bus” full of toys by December 10, 2010. If you
would like to participate by donating toys, please contact Justina
Vedder or Donna Razzano at the transportation department or by
email. If you wish to drop toys off for donation you may do so at
the Toys for Tots bus located in front of the bus garage or at the
main office of the transportation department.. Schools or other
groups that wish to collect toys can contact us and we will pick
up the toys at your location.

On November 11, the Shenendehowa Athletic Department and the Track and Field/ Cross Country Booster Club sponsored the 3nd Annual Veterans Day Dash. A portion of the money raised is donated to the Wounded Warriors project.

Teru Greene and Kristen Brayden qualified to the NY State Girls Tennis Tournament in Manlius NY which was held this past weekend. They advanced in the doubles consolation final before losing in the quarterfinals round. Teru also received the Section 2 Sportsmanship Promotion Award which is given by the NYSPHSAA to one girl in each of the 11 sections. In Section 2, there are 94 participating schools. This is only the 2nd time in Shen history that a female tennis athlete has received this distinction.
