Shatekon Elementary School building

Located in the central part of the district, Shatekon Elementary School is attached to Arongen Elementary and is one of four off-campus schools. It opened in 2007.

The Board of Education appointed Deborah Price as interim principal of Shatekon Elementary School, effective January 3. Deborah Price is the retired principal of Okte Elementary School.
This came about due to the recent appointment of Elizabeth Wood to the position of Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment.
The principal position for Shatekon has been posted with the deadline for applications on 1/13. The goal is to have a new principal in place on or about March 5.
