On March 13, 2012 Orenda students were treated to Dennis Kobray from Meet the Musicians who performed musical pieces from Scott Joplin, an American composer and pianist, best known as the King of Ragtime.

In honor of the 100th day of school, 2nd grade Orenda students collected 100 non-parishable goods/classroom (500+ total) and donated the items to the Helping Hands Food Pantry.

Mrs. Schunk's class had a special opportunity to do a video chat from Israel to learn all about Hanukkah. The students enjoyed interacting with someone from another country and finding out what Hanukkah is all about. The class got the privilege to experience the lighting of the third candle on the Menorah.
Orenda’s Ninja’s were tournament Champions at the First Lego League (FLL) competition to be held at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York on Saturday December 10, 2011.

For Orenda’s Character Education Assembly, Mr. Gary Feinland , speaks to students about responsibility and recycling.
This group of Orenda 2nd graders donning 3D glasses successfully completed a summer reading challenge given two Orenda 1st grade teachers, Mr. Herrington and Miss. Hubbard. The challenge included reading 24 grade level books (or 10 chapter books) and writing reports for each book. Those completing the challenge were treated to the 3D version of Dolphin Tales at the Bow Tie Theater.
