Orenda will be starting a new procedure
regarding families returning to school to retrieve forgotten
homework and materials. Beginning November 1, 2010, all teachers
will be locking their classroom doors when they leave at the end
of the day. Parents will have two opportunities to return to
school. Before 4pm parents and students must come to office and
ask someone to let them into their child’s classroom. Custodians
will also be available to open classrooms between 6 and 6:30pm,
Monday through Friday. Adults should always accompany a student
entering the building after school. Any student needing to enter a
classroom after the school day will also be required to enter
their name, the date and the time on a log that will be in each
classroom.
It is our hope that this new procedure will increase the safety
and security of our classrooms. We will be announcing this new
procedure to all students in the days leading up to November 1st .
We ask that you share this new procedure with your child and
encourage them to remember to bring home their necessary work and
materials at the end of the day. Please feel free to call me or
e-mail me with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your
support and assistance.
