7421 -- Students

SUBJECT: ATHLETIC CODE OF CONDUCT

The Board of Education recognizes the importance of providing students the opportunity to participate in a wide range of positive, constructive opportunities including interscholastic sports. Such opportunities help students to achieve physical fitness and to help develop the characteristics described in Profile of a Shenendehowa Graduate, including such goals as recognize the importance of work and leisure activities and explore artistic and intellectual accomplishments by various individuals, groups and societies.

Participation on a Shenendehowa athletic team is a privilege which should elicit great pride, in both the student-athlete and his/her family. It is also a responsibility which requires an extra commitment, both academic and otherwise, by those who wear our school colors and represent their teammates, coaches, school, family and community. Standards of behavior are necessarily high and a willingness to meet these standards is a condition for participating as a member of one of Shenendehowa’s teams.

As a continuing condition of eligibility, student-athletes are required to formally acknowledge their acceptance of these standards by signing a statement of personal commitment.

The Athletic Code of Conduct Regulation (7421-R) describes academic and other eligibility requirements, the application of the code, penalties, due process, and the appeal procedure.

Note:

Refer to Regulation 7421
